What’s the Nectar Mattress Made Of?
The Nectar mattress is a 12-inch tall memory foam bed. The mattress is constructed with three foam layers that provide a combination of support and comfort.
The top layer of the Nectar bed is made of 2 inches of gel-infused memory foam and is covered by a quilted mattress cover. The memory foam delivers pressure relief, while the gel helps keep the foam cool. Under the gel-infused layer, there are 3 inches of soft premium foam. This layer provides additional support and also allows for some bounce.
Finally, the base layer of the Nectar mattress is 7 inches tall and is constructed of conventional foam. This structured, sturdy foam layer is durable and serves as the bed’s foundation.

What We Liked
- The price – A Queen-size Nectar mattress is relatively affordable compared to other high-quality mattresses. While you may want to splurge on a more high-end mattress for your own home, you are probably looking to purchase something more affordable for your vacation rental home. Although this bed is on the more affordable side, the Nectar mattress is still a high-quality option.
- Pressure relief – Our mattress reviewer, Julia, felt lots of support from the Nectar mattress and didn’t feel any pressure buildup. Typically, a memory foam mattress offers ample pressure relief because the foam provides relief to sensitive pressure points.
- Bounce and responsiveness – The Nectar bed is responsive to movement, which is an important quality for people with limited mobility and sexually active couples. A responsive bed is a great way to cater to more people’s comfort when purchasing a bed for an Airbnb.
Potential Drawbacks
- Mediocre cooling – While the Nectar mattress is meant to be cooling with its gel-infused layer, we didn’t feel like it fit the bill. Julia explained that the gel foam layer doesn’t feel like it’s regulating temperature, and the mattress cover doesn’t stay cool once you’re lying on the bed for a bit. If you’re looking for a cooling mattress to please your rental home guests, this bed may not be the right choice.
- Not ideal for stomach sleepers – The Nectar may not be firm enough to adequately support stomach sleepers, who may sink into this mattress too much and feel a lack of support in their hips. This lack of support could wind up leading to back pain for this group.
- Not great for plus-size sleepers – Heavier folks may find that the Nectar mattress is not firm enough to provide enough support for them while sleeping. Plus size sleepers typically prefer a firmer mattress that supports their spinal alignment and doesn’t let them sink too deep. Thus, your plus-size Airbnb guests may feel discomfort when sleeping on a Nectar mattress.

Potential Drawbacks
- Too soft for stomach sleepers – While this mattress provides sufficient support for back sleepers, stomach sleepers may find the medium-firm Helix Midnight to be a tad too soft. What’s the DreamCloud Made Of?
The DreamCloud stands 12 inches tall and has a total of six internal layers, plus two covers. The top cover is made of a cashmere blend for a touch of luxury that feels soft and breathable. Underneath are two layers of quilted foam. One is a gel memory foam for cooling cushioning, and the second is a firmer, more supportive foam to bolster the first.
Then, another layer of gel-infused memory foam tackles pressure, relieving buildup in troublesome areas as it contours to your body shape. A dynamic foam layer then transitions between the comfort layers into the coil unit below, which is made up of individually wrapped coils.
Everything sits on top of astable foam base and is encased in a lower cover to keep everything in place. This cover also has handles for easy transportation and setup.

What We Liked
- Great for back and stomach sleepers – The super-lifted feel of this bed is a great match for those who prefer to sleep on their stomach and back. It has a firmer, supportive feel with some cushioning on top.

- Affordable luxury option – With features like a cashmere blend cover, thick foams, and sturdy coils, we expected this bed to cost more. But it’s a great way to get luxury at a reasonable price.
Potential Drawbacks
- Weak edges – Despite the DreamCloud’s edges being reinforced in its construction, during testing, we found that they seemed to sag when you sat down on them. Laying near the perimeter of the mattress, however, should be fine.
- Too firm for some – This bed has a medium-firm feel that might not work for all side sleepers, especially those on the lighter end. They may want to consider a softer bed to get a comfortable sink.
