Nectar serves up a highly comfortable memory foam product with their flagship mattress, but those who want a little extra more might be wondering whether upgrading to the Nectar Premier mattress is worth it.

The Nectar Premier offers added benefits, but these will come at a higher price for consumers. Comparing Firmness, Support & Feel

Firmness

A mattress’ firmness is rated on a 1-10 scale. Ultra-soft beds will be closer to 1, whereas rock-hard beds will be closer to 10. Both of these mattresses fall in the medium-firm range, with the Nectar receiving a 6.5 rating and the Premier receiving a 6. This means the Nectar does offer slightly more firmness, which is evident in its stronger edges.

The great news for shoppers is that medium-firm beds fit most sleepers since the middle-ground feel is more versatile.

Support

The supportive layers in the Nectar and Nectar Premier are the middle and bottom conventional foams that are denser than the top memory foam unit. Most sleepers should feel adequately supported by each bed, but if you are exceptionally heavier, you may need something stronger, such as one of the brand’s newer hybrid options.

Nectar’s flagship model, however, does have the advantage over the Premier when it comes to support along the edges.

Feel

We found that the Nectar Premier provides lots of pressure relief to the hips and shoulders, making this the slightly better option for side sleepers. Since the Nectar is a little more firm, people with broader shoulders might feel uncomfortable while on their side.

Another major difference here is that the Nectar Premier feels cooler than the standard Nectar, so if you’re a hot sleeper, you’ll want to keep this in mind.

Comparing Sinkage and Bounce

Both of these mattresses are made with memory foam, so you should expect plenty of contouring and sinkage from each of them to help you manage pressure points. Those carrying more weight will likely find themselves sinking a bit more into the Premier, however, as it’s slightly softer.

Bounce is another mattress feature that’s important to certain shoppers, such as sexually active couples or those with limited mobility. While these Nectar beds have a more slow-moving feel that some may love, they have little to no bounce. However, the brand does provide hybrid versions of these beds now that come with coils to foster more bounce.

Comparing Motion Transfer

As mentioned above, the Nectar and Premier have almost no bounce in them, and while this may be a drawback to some people, it also means these products are great for eliminating motion transfer.

Often, people who sleep with a partner may find themselves awakened by the other person’s tossing and turning. However, a bed that isolates movement well can help the light sleeper rest more soundly.

Nectar Construction

The 12-inch Nectar mattress comes with a poly-blend cover that promotes temperature regulation by allowing air to flow freely through. Quilted to this cover is a cooling gel memory foam. This softer foam gives the bed’s surface a more uniform appearance and plush feel.

• The top foam unit is made up of a 2-inch memory foam infused with gel. This comfort layer is designed to cradle the sleeper’s curves and reduce tension and strain. Meanwhile, the inclusion of gel in the foam help keep the material nice and cool.
